As an actor, Lawrence has worked extensively in professional theatre, performing at leading venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne Arts Centre and Hayes Theatre Co. Most notably, he covered the lead roles of Evan Hansen and Connor Murphy in the Australian premiere of Dear Evan Hansen (Sydney Theatre Company / Michael Cassel Group). In 2024, he appeared as Laurie in Little Women (JRP / Hayes Theatre Co.), and toured nationally in the Australian production of RENT (LPD Productions), and later reprised his role in the 2025 season at the Sydney Opera House (Opera Australia/LPD Productions).

He also has a growing experience acting for screen, with credits including Leo in Situationship (CIMP Entertainment / STUDIO47), Young Portman in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova (Warner bros./Legendary Studios), and Theo Kaloudis in Neighbours (Amazon Studios / Network 10 / Paramount+).

Acting and storytelling through performance is a big part of his artistry.

He is passionate about new work, and as a performer has workshopped and performed at numerous Homegrown events, Hayes Theatre Co’s Festival of New Work and Theys at the Hayes.

‘My understanding of performance and an actor’s process, as well as passion for character analysis and world-building, feeds directly into the music I write, especially when writing music to accompany a dramatic performance.

Whether it’s emphasising certain details in an actors performance, or creating a broad emotional landscape, I always aim to put storytelling first when composing (and acting!)’
